FBM Students Win Awards at the International Project Logistics Competition at Raffles University

SINGAPORE, 12th June 2023 – The Faculty of Business and Management (FBM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), is honoured to congratulate our students from BBA (Transport), Department of Technology and Supply Chain Management for being the 2nd Place Winner and receiving “The Most Promising Paper” Awards in the International Project Logistics Competition. This international competition was organised by Raffles University, Singapore, and co-sponsored by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) together with F.H Bertling Sdn Bhd. The competition was held on the 7th – 9th of February 2023 at the Medini Campus of Raffles University, Johor Bahru. The aim of the competition was to recognise outstanding proposals in regards to analysing and reasoning in-depth logistical processes for project cargo movement.

FBM sent two teams of students. The first was represented by Nur Aneesa Binti Kamalullail, Muhammad Nizamuddin Bin Nazali, Irfan Taufiq Bin Mohd Zanif and Nurul Izzatie Binti Mustafa, and formed the team “Go Thru Logistics”. Meanwhile, the second team called themselves “Real Steel Logistics”, and was comprised of Alif Syazli Bin Abdul Malik, Rea Fatihah Binti Dzulcarnaen, Norizzah Binti Mohd Tukiran, Filzah Nur Yania Binti Yusrey. The teams were supervised by two dedicated lecturers, namely Ts. Azlina Muhammad and Dr Azimah Daud.

The competition trail comprised of two (2) parts; Part 1 focused on Technical and Commercial Project Logistics Proposal Submission, and Part 2 featured the final presentation. Out of the 32 teams that participated, 10 teams were shortlisted. The Top 10 finalists, including many from top undergraduate logistics and supply chain programmes, competed in the development of technical and commercial proposal and were invited for the final presentation which was done in front of a panel of judges consisting of business professionals from the corporate sponsors.
“Go Thru Logistics” (Team 1) was declared the 2nd Place Winner while “Real Steel Logistics” (Team 2) won “The Most Promising Paper” Award. Winners of the competition received international recognition as well as cash prizes.

The awards were a testament of the FBM students’ skill sets and potentials, allowing them to expand their technical and commercial knowledge in solving real cases. The faculty acknowledges this achievement and continues to support our team. Congratulations! We wish the FBM family more success in other international competitions and future endeavors.
