UiTM researchers have secured a prestigious PETRONAS Research Grant, worth RM 449,959.40, for their groundbreaking project led by Assoc. Prof. Ir Dr Nofri Yenita Dahlan, Director of the Solar Research Institute (SRI). Their mission: to revolutionize maintenance practices in large-scale solar photovoltaic (PV) plants using AI-based predictive and prescriptive maintenance. By detecting and classifying string faults with advanced algorithms, they aim to optimize efficiency, minimize downtime, and maximize energy generation.

With this visionary project, UiTM researchers aim to identify and resolve potential issues in solar PV plants proactively, preventing performance impacts.
