UiTM Lecturers Awarded Grand Winner International Luminary Awards

Two senior lecturers from UiTM are nominated in International Luminary Awardees for Research and teaching categories. Ts. Dr. Hamizah Mokhtar, senior lecturer from School of Civil Engineering, College of Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Mara Cawangan Pahang was awarded the 2022 Grand Winner International Luminary Award from IIARI, Philippines. The award honours and acknowledges him as one of the grand winners in five award categories being contested which is in research category. It also recognises Ts. Dr. Hamizah Mokhtar dedication and passion for her work. Another awardee Associate Professor Dr. Tengku Intan Suzila Tengku Sharif had been awarded International Luminary Award (ILA) in the teaching category. The awarding ceremony was held virtually with the participation from various fields around the world. All of the winner were received plaque, commemorative medal and certificate of recognition for their achievement.

The International Luminary Award (ILA) is the organization’s recognition given to individuals from various parts of the world who have exemplary and inspiring contribution in the organization or the community through their profession, academic works, innovation and inventions, community service, inspired behavior and action and excellent academic performance in the university. The ILA was organized by Institute of Industry and Academic Research Incorporated (IIARI), Philippine. There are five award categories which includes ILA in Teaching, ILA in Research, ILA in Leadership, ILA in Civic Works and ILA in Academic Leadership. Congratulations and thanks to IIARI who provide the opportunity and the platform to recognize and celebrate the inspirational success stories in educational and research endeavors.

This international award shared to the world the inspirational stories of resilience, hard work, hope and success from the awardees, thus encourage and motivate others to conduct and publish research. Besides, may this international award will accelerate research activities, promote international collaboration, expand globalization in UiTM and achieve the No. 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which focuses on strengthening and revitalizing the global partnership.
