Faculty of Education’s All-Star Academic Award Celebrates Students’ Excellence

What better way to celebrate students’ excellence than to dedicate an evening filled with rewards, recognitions and performances? The Office of Academic Affairs, Faculty of Education, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), has recently hosted the All-Star Academic Awards. Aimed to recognize and reward outstanding academic achievements, 6 winning trophies have found their deserving recipients during the 2-hour event that was streamed live on September 25th, 2021. In addition, the recipients of the Dean’s List for March-August 2020 and October 2020-February 2021 were also announced in a convocation-like ceremony.

Here are the award categories:

All-Star Academic Award – The award for the best of the best, the top award of the ceremony. The category celebrates individuals who personify academic achievement with an outstanding character and predisposition.
Penman Award – The award rewards students who published any forms of publication, either academically related, issue and/or fiction in print or digital media, E-Learning Whiz Award – The award honours students’ innovativeness in advancing methods/ideas/mechanisms related to online/hybrid learning/blended learning environment. Role Model Award – The award endorses students who demonstrated exemplary character.

First place, first runner up and second runner up winners were selected for each of the March-August 2020 and October 2020-February 2021’s semesters. In addition to the above-mentioned categories, two additional merits of appreciation were awarded and they are as follows:

Resilience Icon – This category recognizes students who have lost close family member(s) due to Covid-19.
Phoenix Honour – This category acknowledges students whose health were affected by the Covid-19 but persevered in completing their studies without resorting to special leaves (Cuti Khas).

Academic excellence among TESL Foundation students, as well as Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degree students who had graduated on time (GOT) were also awarded. The event was hosted by Syazreen Yunadia Mazlan and Muhammad Haziq Aiman Mohd Yusly, both from the Teaching of English as a Second Language (TESL) program. A total of 9 performances from students of various programs within the Faculty of Education managed to captivate the audience’s hearts.
