PUNCAK ALAM, Faculty of Education – Ethos! TESL Student Association (ETSA) welcomed the semester March-August 2023 with high hopes at returning to the norm in back to physically organising ETSA’s events on campus. The much-awaited Maverick Training 2023 was held on 13 June 2023 at the Dewan Serbaguna, UiTM Kampus Puncak Alam.

The Maverick Training 2023 is a half-day workshop from 8.00pm-11.00pm involving 136 semesters 1 and 2 TESL students and volunteer facilitators from among semester 3, 4, 6, and 8 TESL students. The participants were introduced to a variety of language and drama games from the Maverick Module.

The Maverick Training workshop involved a niche ETSA Maverick Module meant to expose and train prospective facilitators from among the TESL students for future English language related events and workshops. ETSA aims to ensure all party involved to always be ready and on the standby mode for requests and demands for event organisations from primary and secondary schools within the vicinity of Selangor. Participants were also encouraged to actively communicate within a large group environment, foster effective teamwork skills, and to implement creative thinking skills.
