On 21 March, 2022, a team of delegates from UiTM Sarawak paid a courtesy visit to YB Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi anak Utom at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Building. The purpose of the visit was to inform and to seek YB Dato Sri’s consent to be the Patron for International Congress on Impacts of Climate Change on Agriculture, Ecosystems and Human Health (ICCC) which will be held in Miri from 16 to 18 November 2022. The delegates from UiTM Sarawak was led by Rector Professor Dato Dr Jamil Haji Hamali, Deputy Rector Professor Dr Firdaus Abdullah and Professor Dr Khong Heng Yen.
Climate change is the defining issue of our time. From shifting weather patterns that threatens food production, to rising sea levels that increase the risk of catastrophic flooding, the impact of climate change ae global in scope and unprecedented in scale. This congress is organised to create an open space for networking to exchange information and knowledge.
ICCC 2020 is organised by V Sivaram Research Foundation, one of UiTM’s international partners in India. UiTM Sarawak is the co-organisers, along with UPM Bintulu, Swinburne Sarawak, and Curtin Malaysia.
YB Dato Sri Dr Stephen Rundi anak Utom has consented to be the Patron and will officiate the opening ceremony on 16 November 2022.
