4 April 2024 – In commemoration of the global World Quran Hour, observed on the 24th of Ramadan 1445H, corresponding to April 4, 2024, Thursday, the Tengku Anis Library at UiTM Kelantan’s Machang Campus organized a significant event. The program, spanning from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. for an hour’s duration, was conducted in a hybrid format, integrating both physical and online participation.
The Library Community Engagement (LCE) space at the Tengku Anis Library served as the physical venue, while the event was also livestreamed on YouTube, extending its reach to a broader audience. The YouTube livestream enabled staff and students from UiTM campuses across Malaysia to actively engage with the program, fostering inclusivity and accessibility.
Surah Al-Jumu’ah was the focal point of this year’s program, with Dr. Ahmad Murshidi Mustapha, Senior Lecturer at the Academy of Contemporary Islamic Studies (ACIS), leading the contemplation session. The online broadcast on YouTube attracted over 200 viewers, demonstrating widespread interest and participation in the event.
The selection of Surah Al-Jumu’ah provided participants with an opportunity to reflect on its verses and contemplate their significance within contemporary contexts. Dr. Ahmad Murshidi Mustapha’s expertise in Islamic studies enriched the discussion, contributing to a deeper understanding among participants.
The hybrid format of the event, combining physical presence with online accessibility, underscores UiTM Kelantan’s commitment to inclusivity and engagement. By ensuring that important cultural and religious observances are accessible to all members of its academic community, UiTM Kelantan promotes diversity and unity.
As the program concluded, participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to gather for reflection and discussion, highlighting the significance of such initiatives in nurturing spiritual growth and fostering intellectual discourse within the university community.
