KUALA LUMPUR, 25th MAY 2023 – Universiti Teknologi MARA, UiTM, through the College of Computing, Informatics and Media Studies (KPPIM), has successfully organized a seminar entitled “Google Culture of Innovation 2023” on the 20th of May 2023. Presented by Mr. Raja Azmi Adam, the Country Director of Google for Education in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei, the interactive online seminar raised the importance of an innovative culture in a society.

Mr. Raja, with 25 years of experience in the industry, highlighted that there are four foundations of an innovation culture – curiosity, ownership, collaboration, and risk-taking. Together, these elements can generate wonderful ideas that could bring meaningful impact to the community. Mr.Raja also emphasized the importance of reward culture as a form of acknowledgment of their participation and ability to get the steer moving despite the outcome. In all, any changes are more than the utilization of technology; it needs a culture of innovation.

Assoc. Prof. Dr Mohamad Yusof Darus, the Head of the School of Computing Sciences KPPIM, found the seminar an opportunity for the students to explore the ever-changing technology of the current era. Dr Norisan Abd. Karim, who served as the seminar advisor, is confident that the knowledge gained and the connections forged during this event will have a lasting impact on all participants.
