Padang Jawa, 16 December 2023 – A big step was undertaken to support cybersecurity awareness within the Padang Jawa community. Under the initiative of Service Learning Malaysia – University for Society (SULAM), a Security Awareness Workshop was successfully organized by the College of Computing, Informatics, and Mathematics (KPPIM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam, in partnership with Masjid As-Solihin, Kampung Padang Jawa. The goal of the workshop was to raise children’s and adolescents’ knowledge on cybersecurity issues, as well as addressing growing concerns on cyberthreats in the digital era.

Over thirty community members attended the workshop which was held at Dewan Jamaluddin, Masjid As-Solihin. Muhammad Azri Arif  Mohd Yusof, from the Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons.) Computer Networks, served as the Workshop Program Director where he and a strong team of 21 KPPIM computing students devised activities that centers on  identifying and reducing the risks of cyberthreats.  All attendees were provided with certificates of completion at the end of the event.
