Jasin, January 10, 2024 – The eagerly awaited CEO Talk program held at the Auditorium, UiTM Cawangan Melaka Kampus Jasin, concluded successfully today. The event, organized by Semester 2 students from the Master of Plantation Industry Management Program (AT770), in collaboration with the Plantation and Agrotechnology Postgraduate Society (PAPS), garnered immense attention from nearly 300 faculty members and students.

The program commenced with an engaging opening speech by the Dean of the Faculty of Plantation and Agrotechnology, Prof Ts. Dr. Azhan Hashim@Ismail. He extended a warm welcome to all attendees and guests, setting the tone for an insightful and enriching experience.

   

The theme of the CEO Talk, ‘Cultivating Leadership Excellence: Navigating the Plantation Industry with Vision and Impact,’ resonated with the participants, emphasizing the importance of leadership in the dynamic plantation sector.

Organized as part of the AGR735 course (Seminar In Special Topics) requirement under the guidance of Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Fazleen Abdul Fatah and Ts. Dr. Muhamad Zahid, the program aimed to expose students to career pathways in oil palm plantation companies, explore sustainable plantation establishment and development, provide a clearer understanding of the plantation industry, and enhance leadership, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

The highlight of the event was the insightful sharing by the distinguished alumnus of the Faculty of Plantation and Agrotechnology, Tuan Fairuz Ismail the Chief Executive Officer of Tradewinds Plantation Berhad. Drawing from his extensive experience, Mr. Fairuz Ismail provided a comprehensive overview of the crucial commodities in the plantation sector, including oil palm, rubber, and cocoa.

During his two-hour session, Tuan Fairuz emphasized Malaysia’s blessing in these commodities and how they significantly contribute to the country’s economy. He delved into the entire supply chain, showcasing the vast opportunities available and the billions of ringgit generated through these commodities.

Moreover, Tuan Fairuz shared valuable insights into career opportunities within the plantation sector, particularly highlighting the roles available at Tradewinds Plantations. His recipe for success and commitment to contributing to his alma mater left an indelible mark on the audience.

The CEO Talk not only provided a platform for learning about the plantation industry but also served as a source of inspiration for the students present. The event exemplified the dedication of the faculty and students to advancing knowledge and fostering meaningful connections within the industry.
