13 December 2023, Impiana Hotel KLCC, Kuala Lumpur — The Society of Petroleum Engineers UiTM Student Chapter (SPE UiTM SC), a hub of innovation and excellence, proudly distinguished itself at the SPEKL Annual General Meeting, clinching two prestigious awards and 1 recognition that underscored their unwavering commitment to pushing the boundaries of achievement.
SPE-UiTM SC, The Society of Petroleum Engineers – Universiti Teknologi MARA Student Chapter (SPE-UiTM-SC), was established on April 29, 2013. Formerly known as the Oil and Gas Student Society (OAGSS), which initiated its pioneer batch of students in July 2008, the chapter now boasts approximately 400 members from the Oil & Gas Engineering program. With a vision to be globally recognized and respected, and a mission to provide all members a platform for developing their talent to meet the expectations of the oil and gas industry and future employers.
SPE UiTM SC is led by Meor Ahmad Danial Bin Nor Nizam (President) and Nur Ain Fatihah Binti Mat Zaki (Vice President), along with their respective advisors Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Nadiahnor Md. Yusop and Dr. Azzah Naziha Bt Che Abdul Rahim. The Notable High Committees Members also include Darlene Scarlet Martin (Secretary) and Ahmad Naufal Bin Ahmad Samsuddin (Treasurer), along with dedicated committees from various student backgrounds.

Outstanding SPE Student Leader Award
In a momentous event, the President of SPE-UiTM SC Meor Ahmad Danial Bin Nor Nizam, was honored with the Outstanding SPE Student Leader Award. This recognition not only highlights his exceptional leadership prowess but also acknowledges his indispensable contributions to the chapter’s numerous triumphs.

SPE Student Chapter Project Award
The collaborative event, SPE-KL ENERGY RUN 2023, held on 11 November 2023, that was joint-organized between SPE-UiTM SC and SPE-KL Section, garnered the esteemed SPE Student Chapter Project Award. This accolade acknowledges the chapter’s outstanding execution of projects collaboratively which has left a lasting impression on students, the university, and the broader society.

The collaborated event, SPE-KL Energy Run 2023, also received recognition from SPE-KL. Organized by SPE UiTM SC in partnership with SPE-KL Section. The program led by SPE-UiTM SC co-assisted among other six student chapter namely SPE-UTP SC, SPE-UTM SC,SPE-UM SC, SPE-UCSI SC, SPE-APU SC and SPE-UMS SC. The effort has been recognized by SPE-KL as a success, with approximately 400 runners, including UiTM academic staff, students, industry professionals, and their family members. En. Hazli Sham, SPE-APAC Regional Director, joined the program and flagged off the run along with SPE-KL Chairman, Ts Anwarudin Saidu Mohamed, and Professor Dr. Hamidah Mohd Saman, Assistant Vice-Chancellor, Faculty of Engineering. This marks the success of SPE-UiTM SC in bridging the gap between students, UiTM academic staff, and industry professionals.
