Malaysian-German Innovation Summit Open New Partnership With Malaysia After Closing The Asia Pacific Strategic Research Partnership Grant Between Fraunhofer IEM – UiTM – UTHM

KUALA LUMPUR 4 Nov 2022 – Asia Pacific Strategic Research Partnership Grant from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) to Fraunhofer IEM, Germany to collaborate with UiTM and UTHM will come to an end this year (2017-2022). To mark the success of this partnership and to plan for the next 5 years, a Malaysian-German Innovation Summit was held at MRANTI Park.

50 industry players joined the event. The event was also attended by Prof Ts. Dr. Ruzairi Abdul Rahim, Vice Chancellor of UTHM, Prof Mohamad Hariri Abdullah, Deputy Vice Chancellor ICAN UiTM, Deputy Head of Mission, German Embassy Ms Ulrike Wolf, Professor Dato’ Dr Ahmad Bin Ibrahim, Fraunhofer Senior Advisor Malaysia and Mr. Muhundhan Kamarapullai, Chief Innovation Officer MRANTI.

During the summit, representatives of Fraunhofer IEM, UiTM and UTHM have presented the achievements of the partnership and way forward planning. The plan involved the synergy from the institute of higher education and industry to make it a success.

Both universities along with delegations from Fraunhofer IEM also visited the Deputy Secretary General (Policy) of Ministry of Higher Education, Dato’ Dr. Haji Megat Sany Megat Ahmad Supian on the 3rd of November 2022 a day before the Innovation Summit took place. The visit was a return visit to the event attended by the Secretary General from Ministry of Higher Education, YBhg. Dato’ Seri Abdul Razak bin Jaafar to Fraunhofer IEM in Paderborn, Germany last July.
