KEKITA (Kelab Kakitangan UiTM Sarawak) organised the PRO-PENS Training and Workshop at Damai Beach Resort on 27th until 28th November 2021 ((Saturday – Sunday). The event supported by Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Sarawak and Business Events Sarawak. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the event was organised to follow the regulators’ strict Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).
The PRO-PENS Training and Workshop, organised for all PRO-PENS committee members from all three campuses, namely, Samarahan, Samarahan 2 and Mukah. The event objective is mainly to equip and upskill PRO-PENS members to face future challenges, particularly in this new normal of observing the ODL and Hybrid mode of teaching. During the sharing session, the two senior evaluators shared their experiences, namely Professor Dr Boo Ho Voon and Professor Dr Khong Heng Yen. The talk titled ‘Assessing Meaningful Classroom Teaching; the Propens perspective’ was conducted by an external speaker, Associate Professor Dr Jaafar Jantan, a fellow at the Insitute of Leadership and Development (ILD).
The PRO-PENS participants are also involved in the social engagement through the CSR activity organised to help the community from Kampung Santubong. The CSR event is called ‘Bakul Tautan Kasih’, where every PRO-PENS committee member donated essential food items. The contributions of basic needs for the residents of Kampung Santubong were channelled through Penghulu and representatives of the Committee of the Kampung Santubong Mosque. They manage the assistance received for the Kampung Santubong.
UiTM Cawangan Sarawak Deputy Rector (Academics and International Affairs), Professor Dr Firdaus Abdullah officiated the event during the dinner held with the theme ‘Culture creates values’ which expose the uniqueness of Sarawak culture among attendees.
