Shah Alam, 5th July 2023 – Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (UMY) and Akademi Pengajian Bahasa (APB), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) successfully concluded a recent student exchange program, providing a valuable global learning experience for the participating students. The program, which took place from 27th June 2023 to 23rd July 2023, aimed to enhance cultural knowledge and offer practical training opportunities in a diverse environment.

On the 27th June 2023, three Indonesian students from UMY arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), where they received a warm welcome from Dr. Mohammad Nor Amin Samsun Baharun, Coordinator of LG242. Throughout their stay, these students were accommodated at Anggerik and Delima boarding colleges. Currently, they are actively participating in an internship at Akademi Pengajian Bahasa (APB), with an expected completion date of 23rd July 2023.

Concurrently, UiTM students from LG242 have been undertaking their internship at UMY from 17th April 2023 to 15th August 2023. This extended internship period showcases the commitment of APB to providing its students with an extensive and immersive learning experience in a different academic and cultural setting.

 

This student exchange program not only benefits the participating students but also highlights APB’s commitment to international collaboration. Recently, APB signed an agreement with UMY to exchange Industrial Training Students for the years 2022 to 2025. By facilitating such programs, APB aims to foster global cooperation, enabling students to gain invaluable insights into diverse academic and professional practices.

This exchange program emphasizes the significance of international education and its contribution to the personal and professional development of students. Through firsthand experience in a foreign environment, students acquire cross-cultural competencies, adaptability, and a deep appreciation for diversity.
