FSKM UiTM Won Gold Medal for World Skills Malaysia Belia (WSMB) Category Cybersecurity

UiTM student won a gold medal in World Skills Malaysia Youth (WSMB) competition. After competing for two days since 27th October 2021, Iman Irfan Bin Hisshamudin beat 15 other contenders from public and private universities. He who is a student of FSKM’s Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons.) Data Communication and Networking was tested with cybersecurity topics including Enumeration, Web-Based Attacks, Database Attacks, Windows Attacks, Root Access, Cryptography, Steganography, Reconnaissance, Application Detection, Exploits, Drive-by Download Malware, Reverse Engineering, and Forensic.

Besides Irfan, there are three other UiTM FSKM students who secured top 10 places in WSMB. They are Muhammad Hariz Bin Tarmizi, Muhammad Awis Qirani Bin Zamani, and Muhammad Hazim Bin Irwan Syah, also students of Bachelor of Computer Science (Hons.) Data Communication and Networking.

World Skills Malaysia Belia (WSMB) is adapted from a cybersecurity skills competition that adapted the Capture The Flag (CTF) challenge format. Participants have to use tools that are actually used by industry experts in cybersecurity and students are also challenged in terms of their knowledge using these tools are leveraged to them in the industry. WSMB competition has been held to promote the values of professionalism among the younger generation.
