In July 2021, the Faculty of Pharmacy, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) sealed agreement to participate in a teaching collaboration programme proposed by Universitas Ubudiyah Indonesia (UUI). The programme involved lecturers from UiTM delivering a series of online lecture to UUI undergraduate students for seven weeks. Nine experienced lecturers who are mainly professors and associate professors from UiTM were selected to teach various topics in the subjects of analytical chemistry, synthetic chemistry, and pharmaceutics. The teaching team from UiTM and academic team from UUI convened in a virtual meeting on the 10th September 2021, to ensure effective and smooth conduct of the programme.
A virtual orientation session was subsequently held on 15th September 2021 with attendance of representatives from UiTM led by the Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shariza Sahudin and representatives from UUI led by the Director of Linkages, Ibu Zulaida Rahmi. In this session, students were also introduced to the teaching team of UiTM and briefed on the implementation of the teaching and learning activities. This teaching collaboration programme shows that the Faculty of Pharmacy, UiTM is recognized globally as a quality pharmacy education in the region. The programme also provides opportunities for the UUI students to learn from UiTM prominent lecturers and study in UiTM environment without leaving their home country. It is hope that more programmes would be organised in the future to strengthen collaboration between UiTM and UUI thus promoting globalisation.
