Ms Margaret Anderson, Deputy Director, International Office of Waikato University, New Zealand visited UiTM Sarawak Rector Professor Dato Dr Jamil Haji Hamali and Deputy Rector Professor Dr Firdaus Abdullah on 9 August 2021, at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK).

Ms Anderson is in Kuching as part of her work trip at the New Zealand Education Fair. During the brief meeting, both Rector and Deputy Rector indicated keen interests in forging ties with Waikato University via student and staff mobility program. Through such program, staff and students from both institutions will be exposed to various cultures unique to Malaysia and New Zealand. Also present at the meeting were Coordinator for Office of International Affairs, Associate Professor Dr Ellen Chung, Waikato University alumni Dr Azilawati Banchit (Senior Lecturer in Finance) and John Jussem (Senior Lecturer in Law and Legal Advisor for UiTM Sarawak). More meetings between UiTM Sarawak and Waikato University will be conducted in the future to identify specific areas of collaboration and partnership.
