UiTM Researcher Receiving KURITA Water and Environment Foundation Grant

Congratulations Dr Siti Fatimah Saipuddin and team on receiving KURITA Water and Environment Foundation grant. Their incredible project titled ‘Assessment of Radon-Related Health Risks in Rural Malaysia’ delved into the contamination of well water and its impact on health. They received a grant totalling RM 12,756.29 for their groundbreaking work in safeguarding communities.

Radon is a radioactive gas that can seep into well water, posing health risks when consumed. Our researchers delved into the contamination levels of well water in rural Malaysia, aiming to understand the potential health hazards posed by radon exposure through water. Their work focused on assessing the risks and implications on the health of communities reliant on well water, paving the way for strategies to mitigate these risks and ensure healthier living conditions for these populations.

Congratulations UiTM Researchers!
