KUALA LUMPUR, 4th APRIL 2022 – A signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and Internspoon Sdn Bhd (Internspoon) was held at CommonGround Bangsar South, Kuala Lumpur, today.
The memorandum was signed by Rector of UiTM Sabah Branch – Datuk Associate Professor Dr. Hj. Abdul Kadir Hj Rosline and witnessed by Dr. Sharifah Nurafizah Syed Annuar while Internspoon was represented by the co-founders of the company – Ms Chew Yinxie and Mr Stephen Lim.
UiTM aims to strengthen the Open and Distant Learning (ODL) experience regardless of whether it is the lecture session or internship session. This MoU serves to bridge the gap between traditional internship opportunity to the massive online internship opportunity. UiTM believes that this collaboration with Internspoon will benefits both the institution and its member.
Rector of UiTM Sabah Branch – Datuk Associate Professor Dr. Hj. Abdul Kadir is his speech during signing said that “UiTM are aware how fast the world evolves and this evolution need to be navigated carefully to ensure that the students able to gain the maximum benefits from the situation. By working together with an experienced ed-tech company, UiTM can explore numerous possibilities to improve the ODL experience.”
Meanwhile, Yinxie through her opening speech express their heartiest gratitude to UiTM for the opportunity to work together especially during this tough times of prolong pandemic. “The objective of this MoU, is to share with the students of UiTM on our launching of new platform called MYStartup Internship program, an intiative by MOSTI and Cradle to assist students in looking out for internship in the startup ecosystem while cultivating entrepreneurship skills in them, working along with UiTM in internship workshop and roadshow to provide more insight and prep the UiTM students better for the future workforce, and assist the student in getting relevant internship placement besides strengthen the bond between UiTM and Internspoon.”
Through this memorandum, several projects based on UiTM-Internspoon collaboration will be introduced in the scope of online internship and distant internship experience. UiTM hopes that this effort will encourage other educational institutions to recognise ed-tech as a way forward in Malaysia education system.
