Puncak Perdana, 16 December 2023 – Universiti Teknologi MARA through the College of Computing, Informatics and Mathematics (KPPIM) has made a significant contribution in the realm of cybersecurity. Under the auspices of “Service Learning Malaysia – University for Society” (SULAM), KPPIM has successfully organised an awareness talk and explorace which addresses the growing concerns on cyber risks in the contemporary digital era particularly among the young generation.

50 participants joined the educational event which took place at Dewan Seminar IM, Puncak Perdana, Shah Alam. Nurzahira Mohd Zahri, Project Director and  25 undergraduates served as the program facilitators, all from the Bachelor of Information Science (Hons.) Information Content Management. The activities of the event included creating awareness on cybersecurity, as well as means to mitigate the risks. Explorace, which was particularly enjoyed by the participants, provided a more active outtake to the program structure where participants remained active yet receptive to the program’s educational objectives, henceforth making it a perfect event to raise awareness among UiTM Puncak Perdana students.

Dr Muhamad Khairulnizam Zaini who served as the Program Advisor kickstarted the event with an opening speech. This is then followed with a talk entitled “Cybersecurity: Protecting Our Digital Program” delivered by En. Qamarul  Nazrin Harun, a lecturer from UiTM Kampus Segamat. The event was well received as participants unanimously expressed appreciation for the insightful discussions and practical insights shared. It was a valuable opportunity to enhance understanding of cybersecurity, and the positive engagement highlighted the importance of continuing these conversations to collectively strengthen our digital defenses. This illustrates UiTM’s commitment in empowering society so they can be vigilant in the ever progressive digital era.
