Riydh, Saudi Arabia – Malaysia professional book “Innovation of Food Products in Halal Supply Chain Worldwide ” edited by Dr. Nina Naquiah Ahmad Nizar, Dr. Siti Aimi Sarah Zainal Abidin and Assoc. Prof Dr. Aishah Bujang won the 29th Gourmand World Cookbook Award “Best in the World” during the Saudi Feast Food Festival in Riyadh.
Dr Nina Naquiah Ahmad Nizar, lecturer of Faculty of Applied Sciences, UiTM Negeri Sembilan, Kuala Pilah Campus and former post-doctoral researcher at Malaysia Institute of Transport (MITRANS) accepted the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards 2023 on behalf of the other two editors, 67 authors and publisher. Fourteen of the authors are from various institute and faculties in UiTM Shah Alam, such as MITRANS, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Faculty of Business Management and College of Engineering.
The book ” Innovation of Food Products in Halal Supply Chain Worldwide ” published under Academic Press, Elsevier tells the reader on various issues, research update and technology related to halal ingredients, analysis and supply chain practices.
Founded in 1995 by Edouard Cointreau and with 205 participating countries, the Gourmand World Cookbook Awards are the only international competition for food culture content. Every year, they honour the best books, printed or digital, as well as television and social media. The competition is free and open to all languages.
The annual event held by Gourmand International took place on 27-29 November 2023 in King Saud University, Saudi Arabia. This year, the Gourmand Awards Ceremony was hosted by the Saudi Feast Food Festival, the largest of its kind in the Middle East. Organized by the Saudi Culinary Arts Commission of the Ministry of Culture, the Festival gathered hundreds of thousands visitors, and food culture professionals from seventy countries coming from five continents.
