The Collaborative Teaching Webinar

The Collaborative Teaching initiative is aligned with the Malaysian Higher Education Blueprint (2015-2025) and High Impact Educational Practices (HIEPs) under the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) in Malaysia, as well as the UiTM 2025 Strategic Plan and Education 5.0@UiTM. The Centre for Innovative Delivery & Learning Development (CIDL), part of the Office of the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and International) at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), is promoting the Collaborative Teaching initiative university-wide. This initiative aims to improve the student learning experience and bring together various areas of expertise. The three main aspects of implementing collaborative teaching include collaboration in either content development, delivery, or assessment.

A Collaborative Teaching Webinar with Industry for Information Technology and Global Development (ICT754) course in the Master of Science in Information Technology (CS770) academic programme was recently held at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. The webinar was organised by the School of Computing Sciences, College of Computing, Informatics and Media at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. The webinar was held on 21 January 2023 and was conducted through Microsoft Teams at 11 am. The delivery initiative used involved collaboration with an invited industry speaker and was moderated by Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Mohd Isa, from the School of Computing Sciences, College of Computing, Informatics and Media at Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia.

The invited speaker for the event was Mr. Shamsul Anuar Abdul Wahid, Head of System Development Laboratory at MIMOS in Kulim, Kedah, Malaysia. His presentation was entitled “IT for Development: The Future.” During the Q&A sessions, students engaged with the industry speaker, taking advantage of the opportunity to gain valuable insights and knowledge from a seasoned expert in the field of Information Technology.

The Collaborative Teaching Webinar with Industry for Information Technology and Global Development (ICT754) course in the Master of Science in Information Technology (CS770) academic programme adds value to students and solidifies the implementation of teaching and learning activities. By collaborating with the industry expert, the initiative aims to improve existing teaching and learning techniques to a higher level and keep pace with current advancements in the field of Information Technology.

In conclusion, the Collaborative Teaching Initiative with Industry at UiTM is set to bring benefits to students, offering them opportunities to learn from experienced professionals and keep up with the latest developments in the field of information technology.
