A collaborative teaching and learning activity was held on 1st of December 2022, from 11am to 1.00pm with Dr.Efila Jzar Simpson who is attached with BDU University High School , Indiana, USA. The objective of the programme is to enhance confidence in ESL speaking skills among ELC590 students.

Generally, the session received overwhelming support from all participants coming from ELC590 groups as well as lecturers who regarded this as an opportunity to speak to a native English speaker. The topics covered in this session is brief introduction of Indiana and on how to speak about sensitive topics being without offensive. The presenter engaged almost all the students in q & a. This was the highlight of the event. However, not all students from the groups concerned were able to participate effectively due to poor internet connections. Nevertheless, those who participated were enthusiastic throughout the session.

At the end of the event, Ms. Delia Olaybal , the APB coordinator presented an e-certifacte of appreciation and thanked Dr. Efila for a fruitful session. Then, screecshots were taken to commemorate the event. We hope to have more of such collaborations in the future.
