PUNCAK ALAM – International Innovation, Invention and Creation Exhibition (IIICE) 2023 has brought forward the concept of science, technology, engineering and mathematics or known as S.T.E.M as theme to unearth the innovative ideas among the participants. IIICE 2023 is an annually programme under Faculty of Health Sciences in collaboration with 10 internal student associations. This year, IIICE 2023 was organized by the Medical Laboratory Technology Student Association (MELTECH). This virtual innovation competition was held virtually starting from 17th April to 12th October 2023 and officiated by the Deputy Rector (Research and Innovation), UiTM Selangor Branch, Puncak Alam Campus.
‘Empowering Young Mind in S.T.E.M’ have successfully unleash the potential of 92 groups with 377 participants from various school, pre-university and other academic institutions as well as a university from Songkla, Thailand in delivering their best ideas in innovation. “Following the objectives of this programme, I believe that all the efforts of the participants have successfully translated theory into the production of quality products for the community,” said program director. IIICE 2023 is not just a competition but ambitiously offers a platform for students and professionals out there to share their ‘out of the box’ ideas with UiTM and become an innovative and research-driven university.
This competition evaluated 5 categories which are Junior Inventor (primary and secondary school), Young Inventor (matriculation, polytechnic, vocational), Higher Learning Institution Inventor (undergraduate and postgraduate), Professional Inventor (researcher, academician and industry player) and International. All the categories have awarded as Gold, Silver, Bronze and Platinum award.
IIICE 2023 competition had offered RM300 and e-certificate to three top categories which are Diamond Award (Best of the best), Best Presentation Award and Most Liked Video Award. AquaClean ProBot: Iot-Based Water, Water Surface Cleaning Robot with Live Streaming, from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) has won the jury evaluation to announce as Diamond Award winner. The Best Presentation Award embraced by D-PROT Universal Deproteinizing Sample Preparation Kit from Atta-Ur-Rahman Institute For Natural Product Discovery (AuRIns), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). KVS Talent from Sandakan Vocational Collage with their KV4u Apps innovation has become a winner for Most Liked Video Award through IIICE 2023 official YouTube channel.
“It should mention that, IIICE 2023 is a platform for students for all around the world to demonstrate their creativity and new ideas. The goal is to not only honor the brilliant ideas and breakthroughs, but also to foster networking and the convergence of ideas that could benefit our country,” said Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences, UiTM Puncak Alam Campus.
