Petaling Jaya, May 24 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) today signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Assuring Consulting Sdn Bhd to officiate a research collaboration between the university and industry through the Strategic Research Partnership Grant.

This memorandum was signed between Professor Ts Dr Haryani Haron, Dean of Faculty of Computer and Mathematical Sciences of UiTM, and Mr. Wan Rushaidi Imran Bin Wan Abdul Razak, Managing Director of Assuring Consulting Sdn Bhd.

Professor Ts Dr Haryani Haron said, the main purpose of the agreement is to inculcate research between university and industry in the assurance analytics area. Collaboration with Assuring Consulting Sdn Bhd, as one of industry’s main advocates in data analytics and big data in Malaysia, shall foster greater synergy to enhance the value of research produced by the university.

She also added that technology transfer between university and industry will take place across discipline through this MoA. At the same time, it is hoped that the UiTM research ecosystem will be elevated and continue to produce industry ready graduates through this collaboration.

According to Encik Wan Rushaidi Imran Bin Wan Abdul Razak, the MoA marks the beginning of an official strategic partnership between UTM and Assuring Consulting Sdn Bhd in research and academic collaborations through knowledge exchange between experts and joint research projects. He added, this MoA would address the apparent knowledge gap in the industry and produce industry-relevant research that would mutually benefit both parties.

The event was held at Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, Jalan Kelab Tropicana, Tropicana, 47301, Petaling Jaya, Selangor and was officiated by Professor Ts Dr Haryani Haron.
