Pulau Pinang, 18 September 2025 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Pulau Pinang has officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Maiden Heritage Enterprise, marking another significant milestone in fostering strong collaboration between academia and industry. The signing ceremony was held at the UiTM Penang campus, reflecting the university’s continuous efforts to bridge innovation and education for national development.
The MoU aims to promote knowledge exchange, research collaboration, industrial training programs, and professional development opportunities for both students and academic staff. This partnership is expected to enhance graduate employability while supporting UiTM’s commitment to producing industry-ready talent equipped with real-world skills and experiences.
This meaningful collaboration began when Maiden Heritage Enterprise approached Ir. Dr. Rozan Boudville from the Electrical Engineering Studies to explore potential cooperation in developing an innovative product known as the Tungku Elektrik (Electric Heating Pad). The product was designed with a focus on safety, efficiency, and user-friendly application, aligning well with UiTM’s expertise in applied engineering research.

During the product’s development phase, Dr. Rozan showcased the Tungku Elektrik in a national-level innovation competition and proudly brought home a medal for his team’s creative and technical achievement. The success not only highlighted UiTM’s capability in translating research into impactful innovation but also strengthened the trust and relationship between UiTM and Maiden Heritage Enterprise. From that point onward, both parties continued to collaborate actively, exploring new ideas and opportunities that would benefit both academia and industry.
The formalization of this partnership through the MoU represents the culmination of these ongoing efforts and marks the beginning of a stronger, more strategic collaboration between the two entities.
Representing UiTM Penang was YBhg. Prof. Dato’ Ir. Dr. Hj. Ahmad Rashidy Razali, exercising the function of Rector UiTM Penang Branch, who officiated the signing ceremony. The initiative was spearheaded by Ir. Dr. Rozan Boudville and Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Nor Azlan from the Electrical Engineering Studies.
From Maiden Heritage Enterprise, a delegation of 14 representatives attended the event, led by Pn. Noreini Saman, Director of the company, symbolizing their strong support and shared commitment to advancing innovation and knowledge transfer initiatives.
The MoU serves as a three-year framework to explore various forms of cooperation, including joint seminars, knowledge transfer sessions, and collaborative research projects that contribute to sustainable industry-academia growth.
Ultimately, this partnership underscores UiTM Penang’s ongoing commitment to nurturing competent, innovative, and globally competitive graduates while strengthening its position as a key player in driving industry-academic synergy for the future.
