UiTM Remains Among Asia’s Best in QS WUR: Asia 2026 Rankings

SHAH ALAM, 4 November 2025 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) ranks 116th in QS World University Rankings: Asia 2026, marking its rise into the top 8% of universities in Asia and reaffirming its leadership in impactful education and research. The 2026 edition of the QS World University Rankings: Asia evaluated 1526 institutions, including 550 new entrants. Despite intense competition this year, UiTM recorded a 17% increase in its overall score compared to the previous year, reflecting a clear trajectory of growth, excellence, and resilience in an increasingly competitive higher education landscape. 

UiTM continues to excel across key indicators, leading in the International Research Network with an outstanding score of 98.3, followed by Academic Reputation at 89.9 and Employer Reputation at 89.8. This attests to UiTM’s strong global collaborations and growing recognition among peers and industry leaders. Notably, the Staff with PhD indicator recorded a remarkable fivefold increase from last year’s score. This highlights UiTM’s strategic focus on strengthening academic capacity through continuous professional development, research excellence, and talent cultivation. 

Vice-Chancellor Professor Datuk Ts. Dr Shahrin bin Sahib @ Sahibuddin expressed immense pride and gratitude for the achievement. “Being recognised among the top 8% of universities in Asia is a truly remarkable achievement for UiTM.
