KPPIM Student Clubs Welcome Fresh Faces Through Engaging Booth Showcase

Shah Alam, 7 April 2025 – The Sekretariat Mahasiswa Kolej Pengajian (SMKP) Kolej Pengajian Pengkomputeran, Informatik dan Matematik (KPPIM), in collaboration with the Academic Affairs Division (HEA) and internal student clubs, kicked off the new semester with energy and enthusiasm. Officiated by Dr. Mohd Nizam Yunus, Dean of Student Affairs KPPIM, the event aimed to introduce new students to the internal clubs and the opportunities offered by KPPIM, encourage active participation from students in programs organized by SMKP, and create a two-way communication between clubs and students to ensure that the activities conducted are more effective and relevant to their interests.

Through its interactive and friendly booth approach, SOWE not only provided an opportunity for clubs to directly engage with students but also became a catalyst for building a more dynamic and inclusive student community. This program also served to promote the activities and programs offered by internal clubs, helping students take advantage of opportunities for personal development and academic achievement, while creating an active campus environment that supports collaboration and the development of students’ character.

The program featured 14 booths in total—12 representing internal student clubs, along with one booth by SMKP and another from the Student Affairs Division (HEP). Over 900 new students took part in the event, engaging enthusiastically with the booths through interactive presentations, fun games, and casual Q&A sessions, creating a welcoming and informative space. Uniquely, this marked the first time such a program had ever been organized by SMKP KPPIM, setting a new benchmark in promoting student involvement with internal student clubs.

“I think the activities organized by these clubs caught my attention, and they have done a lot to keep students engaged and productive,” said Zarif, a statistics student, who attended the event.

To celebrate the effort and creativity of participating clubs, a booth competition was held, featuring five special award categories. The ‘Most Creative Booth’ award went to the Artificial Intelligence Society for its unique and innovative concept. The Actuarial Science Club earned the ‘Most Interactive Booth’ award for its hands-on activities and lively engagement with students. The Math Club won ‘Best Team Spirit’ for their outstanding collaboration and strong teamwork, while the Entrepreneur Club won ‘Most Impactful Booth’ for leaving a meaningful impression on students. Finally, the Information System Engineering Club was voted as the ‘Crowd Favorite’, based on positive feedback and attention from students. What made the awards even more special was that all evaluations were done by the new students themselves, adding a genuine and inclusive touch to the judging process.
