SHAH ALAM, 10 December, 2024 – The College of Computing, Informatics and Mathematics (KPPIM) Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) has successfully hosted a roundtable session with alumni and industry representatives. The session held at Dewan Al Ghazali, UiTM Shah Alam, aimed at gathering expert insights on the means of further enhancing mathematics programs relevant with the changing era and industrial needs.
The event brought together alumni from diverse professional backgrounds – spanning finance, data analytics, and technology – alongside industry leaders from prominent organizations such as Cybersecurity Malaysia, Jabatan Meteorologi, Data Micron Sdn. Bhd., and Teguh Niaga. The discussions focused on aligning the mathematics curriculum with industry demands, highlighting critical areas such as financial risk management, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and entrepreneurship.
Building on the insights shared, the session culminated in defining the attributes of a quality mathematics graduate – encompassing critical problem-solving abilities, ethical professionalism, innovativeness, adaptability to emerging technologies, and having effective teamwork skills. UiTM is committed to leveraging the feedback gathered by strengthening existing courses, enhancing communication skills training, and integrating cutting-edge technologies into teaching methodologies.
KPPIM express its gratitude to the alumni and industry representatives for their invaluable input, which will guide academic improvements and strengthen future collaborations between academia and industry to ensure graduates are industry-ready.
