BERTAM, 3 January 2025 – The Collaborative Teaching Program featuring an industry expert was successfully organized by Resource Person Mrs. Nurhidayah binti Sabri, a senior lecturer from the Department of Environmental Health, Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Pulau Pinang, Kampus Bertam.
The program aimed to optimize industrial expertise in delivering knowledge, enhance students’ understanding of industry-related challenges in risk assessment, and support the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). A total of 41 third-semester diploma students from the HS113 program enrolled in the subject Introduction to Risk Assessment (ENV201) participated in this initiative.
This program had a significant impact on several SDGs, including SDG 4 (Quality Education) by fostering inclusive and high-quality learning, SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) by ensuring equitable educational opportunities, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by building collaborative relationships across education and industry sectors.
The program featured a guest speaker, Mr Juzaili bin Azmi, a professional geophysicist currently serving as the Chief Operating Officer at UGEO Solutions Sdn. Bhd. As an external examiner at Universiti Teknologi Petronas, he shared invaluable insights on workplace safety and environmental issues, providing students with a deeper understanding of these critical topics.
Special appreciation goes to Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Pulau Pinang, Kampus Bertam, for their unwavering support in bridging academia and industry. It is hoped that the program will continue to benefit all stakeholders involved.
