SHAH ALAM, 29th FEBRURARY 2024 – The Seminar Hall, International Complex at UiTM buzzed with intellectual fervor as esteemed Prof. Dr. Low Sui Peng (LSP) took the stage for a captivating Visiting Professor Talk. The event, centered around the theme “Unlocking Excellence: Navigating the NUS Journey to Top World-Ranked & Financial Independence,” drew a diverse crowd of academics and enthusiasts eager to glean insights from Prof. LSP’s wealth of experience.
The occasion commenced with the distinguished entrance of Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Industry, Community, and Alumni Network (ICAN), Prof. TPr. Dr. Jamalunlaili Abdullah, alongside other notable figures including Dean of Academic and International Affairs of CBE also Acting Assistant Vice-Chancellor of CBE– Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Emma Marinie Ahmad Zawawi, Assistant Vice-Chancellor of Infrastructure and Infostructure Development–Prof. Ts. Sr. Dr. Md Yusof Hamid, and Director of Global Strategic Partnership, UiTM Global- Prof Dr Ahmad Naqiyuddin Bakar. The atmosphere swelled with patriotism as the national anthem ‘Negaraku’ and UiTM’s ‘Wawasan Setia Pelajar’ echoed through the hall, setting the stage for an intellectually stimulating discourse.
Attendees, primarily comprising academic staff members from CBE, were treated to a riveting three-hour lecture by Prof. LSP, delving into the inception and evolution of the National University of Singapore (NUS). From elucidating the university’s vision, mission, and objectives to shedding light on its eight research clusters, Prof. LSP’s presentation offered a comprehensive overview of NUS’s journey towards global prominence. Prof. LSP went on to discuss NUS’s diverse enterprises and its entrepreneurial hubs around the world, highlighting the potential for future collaborations.
Engagement was key throughout the session, with interactive quiz sessions punctuating the lecture, much to the delight of the audience. Lucky participants walked away with small tokens of appreciation, adding an element of excitement to the proceedings. As the session drew to a close, attendees seized the opportunity to pose thought-provoking questions to Prof. LSP, tapping into his wealth of knowledge and experience.
The event culminated in a heartfelt appreciation ceremony, with Deputy Vice-Chancellor of ICAN and the Dean of Academic and International Affairs of CBE extending their gratitude to Prof. LSP for his invaluable contributions.
