Shah Alam, 6 November 2023 – The Postgraduate Symposium (PGES) 2023, organized by the Faculty of Education, Languages, Psychology, and Music, SEGI University in collaboration with the Academy of Language Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Shah Alam, and the Faculty of Education, UiTM Puncak Alam, was held on August 15th and 16th. The two-day event provided an avenue for postgraduate students to share and exchange ideas and thoughts on contemporary research theory, principles, and practices for sustainable development in the field of education.
Welcome address by Prof. Dr. Gurnam Kaur Sidhu, Chairperson of PGES 2023, and opening speech and launch of PGES 2023 by Ms. Stella Lau, Managing Director, SEGi University & Colleges. The event was then enlivened with the performance of fusion dance by FOELPM, SEGi University, and PGES participants. The day 1 event included paper presentations and workshops.
The second day of the event started with a symposium forum titled “Sustainable Collaborative Partnerships for Quality Learning Environments”. Then entertained with an ensemble performance by SEGi College music students. Next, the parallel sessions were followed by a musical sketch entitled “Lovely” by APB UiTM. This unique event, a collaboration between three esteemed institutions, ended with an award presentation and closing ceremony. Congratulations to the following UiTM winners; Xiaoyan Shang for winning best paper and Farina Nozakiah Tazijan, Wang Jing, Muhammad Aiman Zainal Abidin, Nurulalya Husna Muhamad Rupi and Nur Asyikin Rodin for winning best presenter.
This event offers an excellent chance for networking and fostering cross-institutional relationships, which will undoubtedly lead to the strengthening of academic ties between our universities.
