Faculty of Education, 23 October 2023 – Ethos! TESL Student Association (ETSA) successfully hosted its first programme of the semester, ETSA Town Hall, in the second week of the October 23–February 2024 academic calendar. ETSA Town Hall was previously known as ETSA Meet & Greet. The town hall session was held on 10 October 2023, at DK500, UiTM Kampus Cawangan Puncak Alam, from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. Despite the time squeeze during students’ lunch break, a total of 315 enthusiastic TESL students from Part 1 until Part 8 showed up as a showcase of their ultimate support for ETSA.
Among the many aims of ETSA Town Hall 2023 was the introduction of the 2023–2024 ETSA High Committee (HICOM) line-up, by the President of ETSA, Muhammad Adrian Naufal b. Mohd Kamarulnizam, to the Part 1 students who are new to the faculty and the association. Other than that, the ETSA HICOM also prepared a thrilling presentation of ETSA’s upcoming programme line-up: 3THOSVISION, TESL Dinner, and Project X, which is to be revealed soon. Much to the enthusiasm of the Town Hall attendees, ETSA HICOM also introduced their merchandise lineup and pop-up stalls, an effort to raise funds for the annual TESL Dinner.
The ETSA Town Hall session was also graced by the attendance and speeches from the Head of Study Centre for Arts and Humanities, Dr. Roslaili Anuar, the TESL Program Coordinator, Mr. Fazyudi Ahmad Nadzri, and the Advisor for ETSA, Ms. Munirah Mohd Izam. Several other academic staff from the TESL Department were also in attendance.
Once done with the formalities, the Town Hall session dove into a realm of fun with an interactive game session, which added a dollop of jubilance to the afternoon. The natural chemistry and bond between TESL students during the game are evident, though it might be their first time meeting each other. The game session managed to capture the smiles of TESL students.
ETSA Town Hall was truly a good start for Ethos! TESL Student Association, as it finishes with a sense of anticipation among the students. It is visible that the association is looking forward to building one big ETSA family, and the students are ready to participate in programmes that are waiting for them. ETSA 2023 Town Hall Meeting was more than just an introduction; it was an invitation to a fun and exciting semester.
