An international writing workshop, organized by the Institute of Quality and Knowledge Advancement (InQKA), UiTM was held on 3rd & 4th December 2020 via webex platform. InQKA’s first international writing workshop turned out to be a resounding success with 25 participants from Chulangkorn University (CU), Thailand attending the session.
The workshop organized by the Achievement and Ranking Unit, InQKA in collaboration with the Halal Science Centre, Chulangkorn University (CU), Thailand, was officiated by the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & International) UiTM, Prof Dr Roziah Janor.
Prof Dr Winai Dahlan, an imminent Thai scientist from CU in his opening speech exclaimed that “never did I dream that a team of experts from UiTM can share their writing knowledge and experience successfully through this online platform”.
The four Resident Reviewers (RR) from InQKA, Prof Dr Faridah Hassan, Prof Dr Azni Zain Ahmed, Prof Dr Azemi Samsuri and Prof Dr Datin Hajibah Osman facilitated the two-day workshop which had both theoretical and practical hands-on sessions on writing good journal manuscripts.
The participants from CU had a great learning experience on how to write good manuscripts for journal publications and were also exposed to InQKA’s review process using the Electronic Article Tracking System (e-RTS).
“The collaborative interests of both institutions in addition to the willingness and vision of both Prof Dr Winai and Prof Dr Roziah made the workshop a reality. Leveraging on existing friendship through Prof Dr Faridah and her comradeship with her fellow RRs also played a key factor in organizing this international workshop”, said Prof Dr Azni.
The technical team behind the show was exemplary in the way they put together the two-day workshop so smoothly.
The international workshop which served as a strategic partnership engagement is an excellent platform for exchange of knowledge and understanding between the two institutions.
InQKA will continue to “promote writing workshops using this platform in future” and will further enhance the e-RTS electronic review system” said Ir. Dr. Amirul Abd Rashid, Head of Achievement and Ranking Unit, InQKA.
