
SHAH ALAM, 6 October 2025 – The Faculty of Business and Management (FBM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Alam successfully hosted FBM Beyond the Bridge: An Afternoon with Industry, a high-impact networking event held at the Concorde Hotel, Shah Alam. The programme served as a strategic platform to bridge academia and industry, fostering collaboration and exploring future opportunities in business and management education.
The event was officiated by YBhg. Professor Datuk Ts. Dr. Shahrin bin Sahib @ Sahibuddin, FASc, Vice-Chancellor of UiTM, and attended by Professor Dr. Muhammad Hussain Ismail, Director of the Industry Network Centre (INC) under the Office of Industry, Community and Alumni Network (ICAN), alongside FBM’s management team and representatives from 42 industry organisations across various sectors.

Participating organisations included leading names in finance and banking (Maybank, Bank Rakyat, Affin Bank Berhad), retail and hospitality (Valiram Group, Boustead Hotels & Resorts Sdn. Bhd.), technology and digital innovation (Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation [MDEC], Ericsson Malaysia, Adaptive Tech Sdn. Bhd.), manufacturing and logistics (Toyota Assembly Services Sdn. Bhd., FMM Selangor and Kuala Lumpur Branch), and public and social enterprises (Lembaga Zakat Selangor, Ekuinas, and TERAJU).
The programme aimed to showcase FBM’s academic excellence, research achievements, and internationalisation efforts, while reinforcing its reputation at both national and global levels. It also served to support key indicators for the QS World University Rankings by Subject, particularly through employer engagement and industry recognition.
The event concluded with a networking hi-tea session that encouraged meaningful dialogue and relationship-building among guests, paving the way for future collaborations.
Through FBM Beyond the Bridge: An Afternoon with Industry, UiTM FBM reaffirms its commitment to nurturing talent, driving innovation, and positioning Malaysia as a leader in global business and management education.
