UiTM Pahang Elevates Malaysian Library Innovation on Global Stage Through International Lecture Series

JENGKA, 1 August 2025 – Al-Bukhari Library, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Pahang Branch, Jengka Campus, proudly represented Malaysia in a global knowledge-sharing initiative through an Online Public Lecture hosted by the International University of Management (IUM), Namibia, in collaboration with the National Information Workers Association of Namibia (NIWAN).

The programme featured Nurfarawahidah Badruesham, Senior Librarian at UiTM Pahang, who was specially invited to deliver two impactful sessions to an audience of over 85 participants from across Africa. Attendees included university students, academic librarians, public librarians, and school librarians from Namibia, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Nigeria, Zambia, and Eswatini.

In her first lecture, Information Literacy in Action: The Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia Library Experience, Nurfarawahidah highlighted UiTM Library’s strategic efforts in cultivating information literacy and its practical applications in academic and professional contexts. Her second session, Professional Image for Information Professionals: Identify Your Style Personality and Leverage It for Professional Presence, explored how understanding style personalities can enhance professional image, improve workplace communication, and strengthen leadership presence.

This international engagement not only showcased UiTM’s pioneering role in library innovation and lifelong learning, but also reaffirmed the university’s commitment to global collaboration and professional development. Through initiatives like this, UiTM continues to position Malaysia as a strategic partner in advancing library science and empowering information professionals worldwide.
