HO CHI MINH CITY, VIETNAM, 9 June 2025 – A group of 20 students from the Faculty of Hotel and Tourism Management (FPHP), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) successfully completed a transformative academic visit to Vietnam from 7 to 9 June 2025, under the University Social Responsibility (USR) and Service Learning Malaysia – University for Society (SULAM) initiatives.
The three-day programme spanned key destinations including Dalat, Mui Ne, and Ho Chi Minh City, offering students immersive learning experiences focused on sustainability, intercultural understanding, and social impact. Visits to iconic sites such as Datanla Falls, Lam Vien Square, Tuyen Lam Lake, White Sand Dunes, and Ben Thanh Night Market provided valuable exposure to Vietnam’s dynamic tourism landscape.

A key highlight of the visit was a collaborative engagement with Ton Duc Thang University, which featured cultural exchanges, academic presentations, and joint community activities. This partnership enabled students to apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.
In support of SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and SDG 13 (Climate Action), students also participated in a community clean-up initiative at Noorul Ehsaan Mosque in Dalat, reinforcing their commitment to environmental stewardship and civic responsibility.
This international engagement not only broadened the students’ academic and professional perspectives but also strengthened their identity as responsible global citizens, in line with UiTM’s mission to nurture holistic, future-ready graduates through experiential and socially impactful learning.
