Yayasan Bank Rakyat (YBR) and Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for research and higher education development.
YBR General Manager, Norashikin Shaharudin, said in a statement today: “This is a good partnership because both organisations will be working together to develop graduate education, research and marketability”.
The MoU was inked yesterday by Norashikin and Institute of Graduate Studies (IPSis), UiTM Dean, Prof Dr Haslinda Yusoff, while witnessed by UiTM Vice Chancellor, Prof Emeritus Datuk Ir Dr Mohd Azraai Kassim.
“Generally speaking, the collaboration is expected to set out a number of new and high-potential initiatives for adding value to the education and research sectors, while providing industry with access to research cases and scientific findings by the university,” said Prof Haslinda.
She added that it was a positive step towards strengthening the national education agenda in the long term.
YBR will also be collaborating with other universities on initiatives centred around the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0) and research-based education.
