When Global Goes Local: Excavating Ancient Civilization Site Right in the Classroom

The Faculty of Education, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), has again embarked on another international collaborative effort through its teleconferencing series of invited speakers.

The second series of the online lecture was carried out on April 10th 2019 involving a guest speaker, Dong Hui Feng, the Vice Dean of Teaching, Architecture and Art Design College, Xi’an Peihua University, Republic of China.

The initiative was part of the Week Without Wall activities at the Faculty of Education and the lecture focused on Terracotta Warriors, one of the world’s greatest mysteries.

The teleconference session was streamed live to the faculty’s counterparts in Indonesia: Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) and Universitas Negeri Malang (UM); in addition to our partners Universiti Malaya (UM) and Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK).

The focus of the lecture is relevant to six courses offered at the faculty, the program also received attendance of the students and staff from the Faculty of Art and Design, and the Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Surveying, UiTM; as well as the representatives from Islamic Arts Museum Malaysia.
