28 October 2024 – The FSG team from UiTM Perak Branch, Tapah Campus, and UiTM Sabah Branch, Kota Kinabalu Campus won the Silver Award at the International Educational Design, Games, Invention, and Innovation 2024 (iEDGII2024). The Universiti Teknologi MARA Johor Branch, Pasir Gudang Campus, hosts this international competition from 1st July 2024 to 22nd September 2024, followed by a judging period from 10 October 2024 to 23 October 2024. On October 28, 2024, the results and awards were announced through YouTube Live. The main theme of the competition is Innovative Excellence in Education: Pioneering Inclusive Learning. There are 5 subthemes, such as optimizing teaching and learning through the integration of digital tools, utilizing online platforms in teaching and learning, online assessment and evaluation, and gamification in teaching and learning.
The innovators of FSG (Faculty of Applied Sciences) team, comprised of Puan Tavasuria Elangovan, a biology lecturer from UiTM Perak Branch, Tapah Campus, and Dr Nur Syazwani Mohtar from UiTM Sabah Branch, Kota Kinabalu Campus, won the Silver Award for the category of utilizing online platforms in teaching and learning at the iEDGII2024. Their invention and innovation titled “M-CCGL APPROACH IN TEACHING AND LEARNING PLANT TISSUES USING ONLINE PLATFORM”. The campuses of FSG UiTM Tapah and Kota Kinabalu are proud of this achievement, as more than 300 participants participated in this international competition. This teaching and learning innovation is unique as it provides opportunities for students from multiple campuses to connect from anywhere in the world, thereby facilitating collaboration, discussion, and exchange of ideas. It also enriches the educational experience for students by integrating a guest speaker who is an expert in the subject matter of plant tissue.
