Sofia, Bulgaria, 6th June 2023 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Business Studies Sofia, Bulgaria, to foster academic collaboration and promote knowledge exchange between the two institutions. The signing ceremony took place on 6th June 2023 and was witnessed by the Honorary Consulate of Malaysia in Bulgaria, Mr. Peter Kouroumbashev.
The MoU signifies a significant milestone in the strategic partnership between UiTM and the Institute of Business Studies Sofia. Through this collaboration, both institutions aim to enhance research and innovation activities, academic programs, and faculty development, fostering internationalization in higher education. The event took place in conjunction with the Strategic Leadership Roundtable, which brought together representatives from Malaysian statutory bodies and the 6th International Conference in Governance and Strategic Management. This roundtable event, scheduled for June 8-9, 2023, in Burgas, aims to facilitate discussions on effective leadership strategies and best practices.
Deputy Vice Chancellor of Research and Innovation, UiTM, Prof Dr Nor Azah Abdul Rahman, and Director of Accounting Research Institute, HICoE, UiTM, Prof Dr Jamaliah Said, represented Universiti Teknologi MARA at the signing ceremony. Their presence highlighted the university’s commitment to strengthening international collaborations and expanding its global academic network.
One of the key outcomes of this partnership is the Erasmus+ teaching mobility grant, which will enable faculty members and researchers from both institutions to engage in teaching, research, and training activities. This exchange program will facilitate the sharing of expertise, knowledge, and best practices, ultimately benefiting students and academic communities in Malaysia and Bulgaria.
By fostering academic cooperation, the MoU aims to create opportunities for joint research projects, collaborative publications, and conferences. It will also open doors for student exchanges, allowing learners from UiTM and the Institute of Business Studies Sofia to experience different educational systems and cultures, fostering a global perspective and promoting cultural diversity.
