May 16, 2024 – The UKAS 2024 Outreach Programme took place at UiTM Samarahan Campus 1 on May 16, 2024, marking a significant effort to empower students of UiTM Sarawak as a platform to engage with the youth demographic.
Approximately 300 students attended the event, which saw the participation of six government agencies, namely the Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS), the Sarawak Foundation, TVS, the National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN), the Election Commission (SPR), and the Social Security Organization (PERKESO).
The programme was officiated by the Deputy Minister of Sarawak Premier’s Department (Corporate Affairs, Information & UKAS), Datuk Abdullah Saidol, at the Jubilee Hall, UiTM Sarawak Campus, Kota Samarahan, on Thursday.
This initiative provided students with exposure to various agencies, allowing them to gain insights and information directly from representatives. Students had the opportunity to pose questions directly to the participating agencies and receive immediate feedback. Additionally, students keen on undergoing industrial training seized the chance to acquire crucial information during the event.
The UKAS 2024 Outreach Programme reflects a concerted effort to bridge the gap between students and governmental agencies, fostering a culture of engagement and empowerment among the youth population in Sarawak.
