SHAH ALAM, 14th July 2023 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) has taken a significant stride in fostering international partnerships by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universitas Negeri Islam Sunan Kalijaga, located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.
The momentous signing ceremony was led by Prof. Ts Dr Haryani Haron, Assistant Vice Chancellor, College of Computing, Informatics, and Mathematics (KPPIM). Also present were Dr Muhamad Khairulnizam Zaini, Dean of Industry, Community, and Alumni Network (ICAN) at KPPIM, and Mr Mohd Nazrul Mohd Amin, Dean of Student Affairs.
The MoU aims to enhance academic and scholarly cooperation between the institutions, with a strong focus on collaborative projects and future joint research endeavours of mutual interest to both colleges, their faculties, and students. A key aspect of this collaboration will be the facilitation of student exchange programs to enrich cross-cultural experiences. Moreover, the partnership will encourage the sharing of expertise, particularly in the realms of academic teaching and learning, as well as in various research areas.
The MoU signing resonates strongly with Sustainable Development Goal 17 (SDG17): Partnership for the Goals, which emphasizes fostering collaborations among institutions for collective progress. By fortifying educational partnerships, this collaboration also contributes to SDG 4: Quality Education, with the ultimate goal of enhancing educational opportunities for students. In addition, this alliance is poised to promote synergy and innovation, aligning seamlessly with the government’s vision of Malaysia Madani.
