Further global soccer industry development and recognition in the sports related academic program offered in the Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia, has recently led to the official partnership agreement between themselves and the globally acclaimed International Soccer Science and Performance Federation (ISSPF). The signing of agreement is led by UiTM’s Vice Chancellor, Emeritus Professor Datuk Ir. Dr. Mohd Azraai Kassim. This is witnessed by the Dean of the Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation UiTM, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohad Anizu Mohd Noor and Mr. Neil Travers, the Director of ISSPF. The aim of this partnership is to provide cutting edge, bespoke, online soccer training resources delivered by leading Soccer Professionals from around the world.
The online courses are professionally developed and delivered by some of the leading academics, sports scientists and coaching practitioners from international renowned organisations, associations & top level clubs such as the Football Association, Manchester United FC, Boca Juniors FC, Millionares FC, Chelsea FC, Trabzonspor FC, Besiktas FC, Leicester City FC, Dynamo Moscow FC, Napoli FC, Benfica FC, FC Rennes, Porto FC, Major League Soccer clubs staff and many more.
These specific courses target participants, learners and students from all levels of the game with a various range of abilities and knowledge. The key courses delivered online within these unique, bespoke and accredited courses provide an insight into the elite level workings of the game including: Nutrition, Psychology and Mental Skills Training, Youth Player and Athletic Development, Soccer and Team Sport Training Methodology, Fitness and Conditioning Training, Tactical Analysis, Talent Identification, Goalkeeper Coaching Science and Injury Reduction and Return to Play.
According to the Dean of Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation, Associate Professor Dr Mohad Anizu Mohd Nor, “I am delighted that we have been able to formalize this link with the ISSPF. I firmly believe that this will not only lead the faculty moving forward in terms of our continued high-impact education, but will also allow for us to offer the Malaysian sporting community access to world class educational content.
As a sports science education provider we pride ourselves on our relationships with the community, & this link will allow for us to further our reach and empower those who aspire to work at the highest level of the game. We will be compiling several bespoke UiTM/ISSPF diplomas and certification courses that will provide aspiring coaches, sports scientist, scouts, trainers, medical practitioners and analysts with insight to not only domestic but international best practice standards. This is a fantastic initiative, and I am excited that UiTM can contribute to the applied soccer education revolution here in Malaysia and Asia region,” explains the Dean.
The educational outcome & subsequent possibilities provided through the courses are open to almost anyone involved in the game or with an interest to further themselves, and ideal to provide insights and additional qualifications as well as best practice to design and implement structures & strategies, planning, and sessions with individual players and teams.
