Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) recently organized a postgraduate promotion activity in conjunction with the Study in Malaysia Education Fair in Uzbekistan from 23rd April to 26th April 2024. During the event, representatives from the Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPSis) had the opportunity to visit two prominent institutions, the Financial and Banking Academy and the University of Business and Science, to discuss potential collaborations with Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM).

Key issues discussed during the meetings included the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the institutions, student and staff mobility programs, opportunities for joint research initiatives, setting up a postgraduate supervisory committee, exploring the possibility of a franchise program, and increasing postgraduate enrolment from Uzbekistan.

The Education Fair held at Radisson Blue Hotel in Tashkent attracting a large number of potential postgraduate students who expressed interest in pursuing further studies in Malaysia. The demand for courses in fields such as Financial Banking, Economy, Accountancy, Science and Technology, as well as Data Science, was particularly high among Uzbek students.

Overall, the postgraduate promotion activity at the Study in Malaysia Education Fair in Uzbekistan was successful in strengthening ties between UiTM and the institutions in Uzbekistan, as well as in generating interest among prospective postgraduate students in Malaysia. EMGS continues to play a crucial role in promoting Malaysian higher education globally and creating opportunities for international collaborations in the field of education.
