PUTRAJAYA, 10 February 2025 – A group of 21 international students from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) had the exceptional opportunity to attend a public lecture by H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of the Republic of Türkiye, at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC). The students were accompanied by Muhammad Aliff Izzuddin Zaki Amirnordin from UiTM Global and Sarah Nursaadah Mohd Zameri from the UiTM Postgraduate Society.
The event commenced with an opening speech by the Prime Minister of Malaysia, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, who warmly welcomed President Erdogan to Malaysia. In his remarks, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim emphasized that the visit marked a reaffirmation of the strong and enduring partnership between Malaysia and Türkiye. The public lecture by President Erdogan followed, where he highlighted Türkiye’s commitment to enhancing its relations with Malaysia and expanding diplomatic, economic, and strategic collaborations between the two nations.
Distinguished guests, policymakers, and academics attended the event, which provided a platform for significant discussions on international cooperation and development. The lecture was open to students from various universities in the Klang Valley, including UiTM, Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIA), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), and Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM). During his address, President Erdogan touched on important topics such as economic growth, regional stability, and the strengthening of bilateral ties between Türkiye and Malaysia.
For the international students from UiTM, the event was an invaluable experience that broadened their understanding of global issues. Many students expressed their gratitude for the chance to be part of this historic occasion and engage with global leaders on key international topics.
