Shah Alam, 6th November 2024 – Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) has again demonstrated its commitment to excellence by securing the 101st position out of 984 universities in Asia in the QS Asia University Rankings 2025. With this, UiTM retains its place in the top 10% of universities across the continent, highlighting its consistent impact and quality.
Vice-Chancellor Professor Datuk Dr Shahrin bin Sahib @ Sahibuddin emphasised the significance of this achievement, “UiTM maintains its position among Asia’s top universities due to the relentless efforts and dedication of the faculties, students, and staff.” He added, “The institution’s focus on enhancing academic standards, innovative research, and community engagement sets it apart from the others.”
This year’s ranking marks significant improvements in several key areas throughout the institution’s history. UiTM continues to score the highest for the International Research Network indicator, achieving a score of 93.1, followed by Employer Reputation (82.8) and Academic Reputation (76). In particular, the score for Academic Reputation saw a 45% jump from last year, reflecting UiTM’s effective engagement and collaboration strategies and leading to recognition and positive reactions from global academic experts.
UiTM will continue implementing robust sustainability and social responsibility initiatives to enrich its academic offerings further, ensuring that the university stays at the forefront of addressing contemporary challenges.
Adding to this, the university remains steadfast in building upon its strengths and enhancing its contributions to the higher education landscape in Malaysia and beyond.
