UiTM Electrical Engineering Lecturers Engage with Secondary Students at “Pameran Informasi Pendidikan and Kerjaya”

Thursday, 25th July 2024 – Five esteemed lecturers from the Electrical Engineering Studies, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Cawangan Pulau Pinang, actively participated in the “Pameran Informasi Pendidikan and Kerjaya” held at SMK Machang Bubuk, Bukit Mertajam, Pulau Pinang. The event, which took place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., provided an excellent platform for secondary school students to explore potential educational and career pathways.

The UiTM team, involving Dr. Siti Juliana Abu Bakar, Ir. Dr. Firdaus Abdullah, Dr. Belinda Chong, Sir Muhammad Farris Khyasudeen, and Madam Nor Fadzilah Mokthar, engaged with students, offering insights into the various engineering programs available at UiTM Cawangan Pulau Pinang. The lecturers shared their expertise and highlighted the importance of pursuing higher education in electrical engineering, which is critical to Malaysia’s technological advancement.

In addition to UiTM’s participation, the education fair showcased a diverse array of esteemed educational institutions, including Vitrox College, Pusat Latihan Teknologi Tinggi (ADTEC) Kulim, Institut Latihan Perindustrian (ILP), Kolej Vokasional (KV), and many others. Students were provided with an in-depth exploration of academic pathways and career opportunities, offering valuable insights into various fields of study. This collaborative initiative was designed to inspire and empower students as they navigate their future career prospects, equipping them with the knowledge and guidance necessary for informed decision-making.

The engagement between the lecturers and school students was highly productive, with many students interested in engineering and the broader STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields. The event successfully contributed to the students’ educational awareness and career planning by providing real-world insights and academic guidance.

This initiative is part of UiTM’s ongoing effort to strengthen ties with the community and encourage secondary school students to pursue higher education in technical fields, ensuring a well-prepared future workforce for the nation.
