UiTM and UNISA Bandung Nursing Students Engage in Insightful Sharing Session as Part of Mobility Student Programme Summer Camp

Bandung, 4 September 2024 – A dynamic sharing session between Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Puncak Alam and Universitas Aisyiyah (UNISA) Bandung brought valuable insights to nursing students, preparing them for their future roles in healthcare. The event, held on Wednesday at UNISA Bandung, featured two esteemed speakers: Madan Suzana Yusof and Ts Dr. Sharifah Shafinaz Sh Abdullah.

The session, attended by 30 nursing students from UNISA, focused on two main topics. The first presentation, “Preparation for Nursing Career World,” was delivered by Madan Suzana Yusof, who shared crucial advice on how nursing students can equip themselves for the competitive nursing field. She discussed the challenges and opportunities in modern healthcare, emphasizing the importance of strong clinical and communication skills in delivering quality care.

Following this, Ts Dr. Sharifah Shafinaz presented the second topic, “Good Clinical Practice Among Nurses.” She highlighted the significance of maintaining high standards in clinical practice, ethics, and patient care, and underscored the role of professional integrity and continuous learning in the nursing profession.

In addition to the presentations, the session also provided an opportunity for the students to share their personal experiences from their clinical placements. Several UNISA nursing students described their hands-on experiences in the clinical area, discussing real-world challenges they faced during patient care and how they applied the knowledge they gained in the classroom. Their stories emphasized the importance of teamwork, adaptability, and compassion in nursing, offering valuable lessons to their peers.

The exchange of experiences between the speakers and students fostered a richer understanding of the nursing profession’s demands and the strategies for success in the clinical environment.

The event concluded with an interactive discussion and Q&A session, during which students actively engaged with both speakers. This dialogue was described as very fruitful, with participants gaining deeper insights into practical approaches to clinical work, patient management, and the role of ethics in nursing. The session helped bridge the gap between academic theory and real-world healthcare practice, making it an impactful learning experience for all involved.

This sharing session was a key component of the Mobility Student Programme Summer Camp, designed to foster cross-cultural academic collaboration and enhance student learning experiences. Both institutions, UiTM and UNISA Bandung, view this program as a crucial platform for building international partnerships and enriching students’ academic and professional development.

This sharing session not only imparted essential knowledge but also strengthened the academic collaboration between UiTM and UNISA Bandung. Both institutions expressed a commitment to continue organizing similar events, aimed at enhancing student preparedness and fostering professional development in the healthcare sector.
