UiTM and GoodWE Technologies Forge Collaborative Partnership to Advance Green Technology and Energy Efficiency

| Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Event Marks a Historic Milestone in the Pursuit of Sustainable Development |

Kuala Lumpur, May 10th, 2023- In an event filled with enthusiasm and optimism, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) and GoodWE Technologies joined hands to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) product launch. This landmark collaboration between the Solar Research Institute (SRI), UiTM and GoodWE Technologies holds tremendous potential to revolutionize the field of green technology and energy efficiency.

The signing of the MoU signifies a shared commitment to foster international academic collaboration and promote advancements in sustainable energy solutions. Both UiTM and GoodWE Technologies have agreed to engage in various collaborative activities outlined within the MoU. These activities include the exchange of staff members, acceptance of students for study and research purposes, organization of conferences, sharing of teaching and research information, reciprocal website promotion, and exploration of additional collaborative opportunities. This comprehensive agreement sets the stage for a fruitful and enduring partnership between UiTM and GoodWE Technologies.

At the heart of this collaboration lies the SRI, UiTM-PETRONAS project, specifically the “Cloud-Based Energy Management System Using Artificial Intelligence for Virtual Power Plant (VPP)” initiative. Led by Assoc. Prof. Ir. Dr. Nofri Yenita Dahlan, Director of SRI, this pioneering project aims to integrate Distributed Energy Resources (DERs) into the electric power market operations through a cloud-based model. By enhancing grid flexibility, strengthening security measures, and mitigating environmental risks, this innovative approach aligns seamlessly with Malaysia’s ambitious goals of promoting green, low-carbon, and smart energy transitions. The collaborative efforts underline the collective commitment to combat climate change and achieve sustainable development for the nation.

Under this partnership, GoodWE Technologies will provide an impressive 200kWh battery energy storage solution, complemented by local technical support, to ensure the efficient management of energy resources. This battery installation will be carried out at one of UiTM’s Solar PV campuses, serving as a tangible symbol of the shared vision for a sustainable energy future.

The collaborative endeavor between UiTM and GoodWE Technologies is poised to yield numerous mutual benefits for all stakeholders involved. Leveraging GoodWE Technologies’ expertise and industry leadership alongside UiTM’s academic prowess and research capabilities, the success of the VPP project is expected to be amplified. Moreover, this collaboration will facilitate meaningful community engagement and foster industry outreach, leading to innovation and economic growth. By nurturing such strong partnerships between academic institutions and esteemed industry leaders, new horizons of growth and groundbreaking developments in green technology and energy efficiency are anticipated.

In closing, UiTM represented by YBhg. Professor Ts. Dr Norazah reaffirms its unwavering commitment to support and nurture this collaborative initiative throughout its duration. With a shared commitment to understanding and cooperation, the synergy between SRI and GoodWE Technologies is poised to generate unprecedented advancements in sustainable practices. Together, they will make significant contributions toward a greener and more prosperous future for Malaysia and beyond.
